Promoting XR
Both a PC version and VR version were built: the PC version is used for our outdoor exhibit where VR would not be feasible to use, and the VR version is for students to play and build additional features when they join the club as a series of Unity & Blender workshops and tutorials.
Interactive NPC's
Users can walk around and interact with various characters explaining the three categories of XR: AR, VR, MR. After interacting with all of the characters, a quiz appears at the end of the alleyway to test the user’s knowledge of XR.
Character Design
Environmental Design
I wanted a cyberpunk look as a whole and designed the characters based off of what I thought common characters in cyberpunk games or shows would look like. We decided with a bright neon-ish color scheme that would fit the night vibe of the environment.
The building models were built in Blender and the environment was setup in Unity. We used generative AI to come up with different images of cyberpunk buildings as reference, and we built base of our models by following the general shape of the reference.
